Take a “Hermit Day”

National Hermit Day October 29th

We get a “hermit day” once a month, that is, a day in which the monk doesn’t have to be present at any community prayer or community activities. When I get a hermit day, I like to sleep late — that means getting up at 5:30 instead of 3:30 — go for a walk, read, try to catch up on some correspondence and putter around my office. That probably doesn’t sound very exciting, but I sure enjoy it.
