John Prine died yesterday
I first heard John while riding my truck, going to community college on a wonderful folk music station out of Elgin or Palatine, Illinois
Fish and Whistle
I missed the Old Town Folk Music Scene
Years later, listening to John Prine in my room at college, a good friend comes into the room, a big John Prine fan.
We later traveled to Cedar Rapids to see John Prine in concet
Over the years, John remained productive and prolific, usually a new album coming out periodically
This is the end of a beautiful relationship, although his songs live forever.
Although this does give pause
Knowing John can’t live forever, reminds me that perhaps I can’t live forever
